Q + A

Can I bring a plus one?

If your invitation says “and Guest,” then absolutely! If not, we kindly ask you to come solo and make some new friends (we promise there will be plenty of awesome people to mingle with). Plus, you’ll have more time to focus on how great we look.

Can I bring my kids?

We love your kids, we really do! But we've explicitly invited a small group of kids who are in the ceremony. So call the babysitter, dust off your dancing shoes, and enjoy a night out without anyone asking for snacks or rolling their eyes at you every five minutes. (We’ll have snacks too, don’t worry.)

What should I wear?

Dress to impress! The dress code is cocktail to formal attire, so think fancy. Dresses, suits, jackets—no jeans or shorts, please. And if you’re unsure, when in doubt, wear something that makes you feel fabulous (and comfortable enough to party with us on the dancefloor).

What about parking?

There is a parking deck directly beneath the Spy Museum and Hilton. The route to get there is a little tricky but once you're in it's SUPER convenient. The height restriction for the parking deck is 6'4"; Rachel was able to pull the 4-Runner in and park with no issues. It is, however, $50+ to park there per night. There are also many other public parking options in the area around the museum but they may require a walk or uber ride. Pick your poison.

What time should we arrive?

For the love of god, on time, please! (We know, shocking.) The ceremony starts at 5:30, so it's going to feel really awkward walking in while we're in the middle of our vows. Aim to arrive a little early and grab a seat!

Is there a wedding hashtag?

Yep! Share your best photos with #RandJPlaytheLongGame so we can see all your wonderful memories (and your double-dutch skills on the dancefloor).

What should we do about hotels?

We are getting a block of rooms at the Hilton which is the hotel directly behind the Spy Museum. However, there are MANY hotel options in the DC area (some are walkable to the venue) and even in Arlington, VA if you're okay with a quick uber ride to the venue. The bonus of staying in Arlington is that parking will be much less expensive as well.

Where can we smoke?

Unfortunately the Spy Museum doesn't allow smoking or vaping in any of the spaces or on the rooftop. You'll have to take the elevators back down to the first floor and exit the museum strategically so you don't miss anything fun.

What if I still have questions?

Reach out to us directly through text! Or ask our wedding planner (aka our hero) Julie Valentine the day of if you need more info.
